I moved into the area twelve years ago with my twin daughters and my son. I have always had Irish Setters and wanted more space for them to run around and enjoy.
I am fortunate in that the company I supervise for, lets me work from home. This means I can spend lots of time with my dogs. My son says they are treated better here than him!
I had my first Irish Setter 35 years ago, when I was at college in London. I didn't know a lot about the breed then and bought from kennels, My love of the breed has kept me owning them ever since.
I enjoy showing and over the years have encouraged my daughters to be totally involved, enjoying junior handling at local shows and qualifying for crufts many times. It was my daughters who thought of the name Tredura for my affix.
Nine years ago I was introduced to my friends poodles. I was sceptical at first, as I've never owned anything other than the Irish, which is a much bigger dog than the poodle. To my surprise I found that the small poodle was lion-hearted with a sweet nature and incredibly loyal.
Owning Poodles means lots of grooming and so I was soon on a grooming course at Pen-Coed college at Bridgend. Now I am able to produce all sorts of styles on my poodles and keep them in good condition.
